About me

I am a singer / songwriter that loves acting. Being born and raised in Cali, Colombia, music in all its forms has been my passion since I was a child.

I was always enchanted by joyful and tropical rhythms, an influence that comes from my parents and, of course, my Latin American roots.  In 1987

I earned the degree of Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

In the early years of my career in Colombia, I was part of the casts and soundtracks of several TV shows and Theater productions such as Perro Amor; Las Marías; La Otra Mitad del Sol; Porqué Diablos; Pop Stars and Sorprendidas II.

In 2000 I moved to Miami where I currently reside.

In 2005, along with Venezuelan singer / songwriter Jorge Luis Chacín, I was nominated to the Latin Grammy Awards for the album BACHÁ in the category of “Best Contemporary Tropical Album.”  We also sang and wrote together the main theme of the Telemundo’s soap opera: Anita No Te Rajes.

My Spanish version of the song “I Don’t Need a Man / No Hace Falta Un Hombre” was part of the soundtrack of the film Chasing Papi, starred by Sofia Vergara.  Artists such as Jaci Velasquez, Sasha, Manny Manuel, Carolina La O and Any Tovar have recorded some of my songs.

My song "A Donde irán Las penas"  from the album La Vida Se Vá earned the award for Best Spanish song at the ISC International Songwriting Competition in 2009

I am honored to have been a guest to important cultural music festivals such as the Boston Globe Jazz festival; Festival de Jazz de Medellín;

Festival Pro-Artes-Cali; Festival Calle 8-Miami; Encuentro- New York; Sleepless Night-Miami Beach; Summer Hudson Fest-New York; Summer Music Festival-Quebec; Les Nuits D'Afrique Festival-Montreal; Festival of Colors-Detroit among others.
